What should a dental implant actually cost?

A practical cost guide for single implants, full-arch treatment and full-mouth restoration — with a calculator that separates the implant, crown and common add-ons instead of hiding everything behind one headline price.

This calculator is educational. It is designed to expose cost components, not manufacture a fake treatment quote.

Optional procedures are flagged but not priced because they vary substantially by anatomy, technique and local fees.

The pricing trap

“Implant cost” can mean three different things.

Before comparing clinics, ask exactly what is included. A low advertised implant price may refer only to the titanium fixture.

01

Implant fixture

The screw-like component placed into the jawbone. CareCredit reports a U.S. average of $2,143, with a range of $1,646–$4,157, excluding the crown.

02

Abutment + crown

The visible restoration sits above the implant. Published crown costs vary widely by material and market; CareCredit reports $488–$3,254 for individual crowns.

03

Case-specific extras

Extractions, bone grafting, imaging, sedation, temporary teeth and more complex surgery can change the total treatment plan.

Dental travel

Location can change price dramatically. It can also change what you need to verify.

A current Dental Departures marketplace page lists Medellín examples around $1,100 for an implant and $7,700 for All-on-4, compared with higher U.S. benchmark figures. Those are marketplace figures, not guaranteed quotes, and inclusions may differ.

How we source costs: Published U.S. benchmarks on this site use CareCredit's dental-cost dataset; the Medellín comparison uses a Dental Departures marketplace snapshot.
